Montreal-based rapper Wasiu is the type of artist whose songs need paragraph-long explanations to fully grasp. His latest, "Picture Imperfect," was produced by A$AP Mob member A$AP P On The Boards, and comes accompanied by a lengthy description from the rapper in which he explains that the song's about "masking hardships with superficial smiles" (read the full thing here).
Even if you're not doing line-by-line analysis of "Picture Imperfect," it's still a thing to behold for its sound alone. P loops a sultry, smoky vocal line, adds in Wurlitzer keys and flute to match, and ties it all together with a laid-back, skittering beat. Wasiu's really impressing us this year.
