Despite releasing two incredible singles, it seemed like <a href="/profile/Jeremih" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Jeremih</a> and <a href="/profile/Shlohmo" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Shlohmo</a>&#8217;s collaborative project may never come to fruition. Shlohmo explained the indefinite delay was caused by &#8220;major label bullshit&#8221;, which any rap fan knows can put a complete halt on a joint project (see: <a href="/profile/t-wayne" class="text-word" target="_blank" >T-Wayne</a>). The dwindling hope for new material made yesterday&#8217;s surprise drop all the more exciting, as Jeremih let go of the full project for free in celebration of his birthday. While we were already familiar with a few of the tracks, 3 brand new offerings were also included, and &#8220;Let It Go&#8221; is definitely a highlight.
The track mixes Shlohmo&#8217;s dark atmospherics with some piercing snaps reminiscent of the current <a href="/profile/DJMustard" class="text-word" target="_blank" >DJ Mustard</a>-helmed west coast sound, and some melancholy wailing from Jeremih.
