During her recent visit to Cape Town, South Africa, Little Simz came across students protesting a newly instated 10% hike in tuition. Reflecting on a similar plight facing students in the UK, Simz decided to shoot a music video for "Gratitude," which features and is produced by British electronic group The Hics and appears on her debut album A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons.
Directed by Jeremy Cole, "Gratitude" interpolates shots of Simz wandering the streets of Cape Town amongst scenes of the student protests, which imbue the track with a new sense of meaning. Simz X The Hics X Jeremy Cole X South African students = potency.
Simz' world tour commences in January.
