CJ Fly

We&#8217;re making our way through the <a href="/profile/proera" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Pro Era</a> members for our On The Come Up video series, catching each rapper as they are on their way up. After enlisting <a href="/profile/KirkKnight" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Kirk Knight</a>, next up we have <a href="/profile/cj-fly" class="text-word" target="_blank" >CJ Fly</a>. 
The New York native takes us through his childhood, which found him relocating from Flatbush to BedStuy, as well as the influences his parents&#8217; nationalities had on him. He reveals he&#8217;s actually more of reggae connoisseur then he is hip-hop.
He also brings us back to his mixtape <a href="http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/cj-fly-thee-way-eye-i-see-it-mixtape.96597.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Thee Way Eye I See It,</a> which dropped in 2013, before promising new shit is on the way. He goes on to share some of the collaborations he has in store, including several Toronto names and a few overseas, and possibly, a joint with <a href="/profile/raury" class="text-word" target="_blank" >Raury</a>.
Finally, we close the video with a discussion of CJ Fly&#8217;s new project, FlyTrap, which went from an EP to an LP just because of the sheer quality.
