While the XXL Freshmen list is always up for debate (and controversy), Vince Staples is one Freshman who is generally agreed upon to be worthy of the cover. The Long Beach, CA rapper has made a name for himself, by not only making good music, but by tackling societal issues and gang violence head-on. His is the latest freestyle to be rolled out by XXL as part of the XXL Freshmen Freestyle series, and once again Staples spits about gang life, police interactions, and the fallback of violence.
