Last week, Meek Mill, Tyler, the Creator and Lana Del Rey all dropped anticipated, major releases respectively. Each artist is now anticipating where they might land on the Billboard 200 album chart, with Tyler voicing some of his concerns on his possible debut spot on twitter.
As you may know, Meek Mill's effort Wins and Losses has been promoted and pushed pretty heavily with various TIDAL exclusives, but they took it a step further this past week when TIDAL offered free streaming of the album to any and everyone-- the album continues to be available on other streaming services as well.
How will this affect Meek's first week numbers, though, if fans are able to stream it freely via TIDAL? This is a question and concern Tyler, the Creator brought to the twittersphere yesterday. The two are almost neck-in-neck when it comes to reported sales projections.
Tyler admittedly wants a #1-debuting album for himself, tweeting: "FUCK THAT I NEED THAT TOP SPOT." He continued wondering about TIDAL's methods, "DAMN TIDAL GOT ALBUMS PLAYING BEFORE A PAYWALL WHICH MAKES ME THINK NIGGAS CAN HAVE BOTS SPIKING UP PLAYS FOR BILLBOARD ON FRIDAY HMM."
He added for good measure, "IM PETTY I WANT THAT TOP SPOT HAHAHA I WANT IT SO BAD MAN." Be petty af, Tyler.
