Cash Money doesn't exactly have the best reputation with paying its artists, and generally, producers get an even stiffer deal. From Mannie Fresh to Bangladesh, we've seen many beatmakers express frustration with collecting what they're owed from the label, and today, David Banner has joined the club.
The Mississippi songwriter has filed a lawsuit with Young Money (the imprint Wayne is currently attempting to cut from teh Cash Money Umbrella), claiming he was promised $137,787.19 in royalties back in 2012. The tracks named are Tha Carter III's batshit banger, "La La," and experimental fan favorite, "Pussy Monster," (which, as far as we know, never appeared on an official project).
He also says he's owed $15,392.57 alone for We Are Young Money album cut, "Streets Is Watchin'".
With the legal battles between Wayne and Birdman still raging, it's not clear who'll have to pay the bill on this one. We'll keep you up to dat with any new information.
