Shaun King has become a controversial figure in the social justice world, although there is no denying that he has brought a ton of awareness to various issues, especially those involving racial inequality. Throughout the last few weeks, King has been vocally supporting the Black Lives Matter protesters and has even supported the defunding of police all throughout the country.

Unfortunately, his attempts at doing good in the community have been met with some serious pushback. In fact, King recently took to Instagram where he revealed that some police officers have created a private Facebook page dedicated to plotting his execution.

Per Shaun King:

"It’s been that way for years, but they are mainly from anonymous strangers and seem more designed to intimidate me and my family than they appear to be imminent threats of physical harm. We take them all seriously, but what we found in this private Facebook group is altogether different. These were men and women, in a private group that they had no idea I’d ever see them, using their real names and identities, openly plotting to kill me and organizing each other to execute it."

This is an extremely scary and serious situation to go through, especially when you consider how the officers are making these comments out in the open. Hopefully, those responsible will be taken out of their positions of power.
