Demi Lovato's Mother Reveals Daughter Is 90 Days Sober

"I couldn't be more thankful or more proud of her."

Singer and actress Demi Lovato has been in a rehabilitation facility since being hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose that occurred in July. She had been vocal about her struggles with substance abuse for years, sharing her struggles with her millions of fans. When news of her overdose broke, fans and peers of the musician shared messages of support and awaited news of her condition. In August, she took to her Instagram account to share an update writing, "I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."

In a recent interview with Sirius XM's Maria Menounos, Demi's mother, Dianna De La Garza revealed that her daughter was working towards becoming that healthiest version of herself, and overcoming the struggles that addiction has burdened her with. "She has 90 days [sober]," she revealed. "I couldn't be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it's work. It's very hard. It's not easy, and there are no shortcuts."
