The Hulk is one of Marvel's most beloved heroes. Drawing influence from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Hulk plays on the duality of Bruce Banner and the massive green monster. Each have their own distinct personalities, and neither one truly enjoys the other. Banner exposed himself to gamma-ray radiation, creating the Hulk and changing his life forever. In the MCU, Hulk is played by Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo took over the role in 2012's Avengers after Edward Norton was ousted due to creative differences. Fans have appreciated Ruffalo's take on the distraught scientist, and NASA gave the hero one of their highest honors.
NASA named a new constellation after the green giant. As reported by CNet, NASA's Fermi Space Telescope picked up some new gamma rays, and the clusters all received new names. The constellations are made from gammy rays, and not stars, which prompted NASA to give a nod to the gamma-ray created hero. "Gamma rays are the strongest form of light," explained NASA. "They pack enough punch to convert into matter under the right circumstances, a transformation both Banner and the Hulk would certainly appreciate." Ruffalo took to Twitter to respond to the news that his hero had ascended to space. "A star is born," he captioned a retweet of the article. The Hulk is doing big things.
