Jones says the field was too slippery last Saturday.

Last Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys were eliminated from the NFL playoffs after losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional round by a score of 30-22. The Cowboys were underdogs in the game so the loss doesn't really come as much of a surprise. In true Jerry Jones form though, the Cowboys owner is speaking out on the team's loss and is blaming the Rams slippery field and the team's footwear for the loss.

In an interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones explained the circumstances around the loss.

“I’ve had the benefit of the tape, looking at the tape, the evaluation by both scouts as well as the coaches. We frankly had never gotten traction. And I mean that literally. That was a slippery field. If I had to do it over again, we would be really scrutinizing our footwear. Our cleats. We had trouble digging in, so to speak. Well you say, ‘That’s an excuse.’ It is not because not only physically but we had trouble digging in with just the effectiveness of our defense. And we did not stop them, and we did not stop the run.”

Had the Cowboys won, they would have played the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship game for a shot at the Super Bowl.
