After appearing on Surviving R. Kelly and condemning the Chicago singer for the alleged sex crimes he's committed, Chance The Rapper has quietly pulled another move in protest of the singer. According to TMZ, Chance The Rapper quietly removed his collaboration with Kellz, "Somewhere in Paradise," from streaming services. The song has been pulled from TIDAL, Apple Music and Spotify, but it's still available on Chance's Soundcloud page, as well as Apple Music's Connect -- which Apple plans on removing from their platform by May.
Chance hasn't made any public statements about the removal. During Surviving, Chance apologized for working with R. Kelly. “Making a song with R. Kelly was a mistake,” he told Cassius Jamilah Lemieux.
“At the time, it wasn’t even present in my mind that people could feel any type of way about his presence on a track of mine. I think for a long time I was only able to understand R. Kelly’s situation and presence in the world when it comes down to his trial and his accusations and his accusers as a victim. I don’t know if that’s because I’m from Chicago or ‘cause he made great music or ‘cause he is a black man."
Along with Chance, Celine Dion and Lady Gaga also removed their collaborations with Kellz on streaming platforms. Lady Gaga removed "Do What U Want (With My Body)" last week after making a public apology about working R. Kelly. Earlier today, Celine Dion pulled down her collaboration with Kellz, "I'm Your Angel" from streaming services as well.
