The New York Times' Marc Stein seem to think any hopes the Lakers' brass would sign LiAngelo to play with his brother Lonzo Ball have been definitively shut down. The 6'5 forward's decision to enter the 2018 NBA Draft was met with skepticism but several teams opted to offer him private workout sessions to further asses the player's skill set and motor. It seems as though the Lakers who held the first workout session on Tuesday, have rescinded their interest upon seeing him up close.

On his NBA podcast, Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus seemed to give LiAngelo an A for effort during the Laker's mentality drill which puts the participants fitness level to the fest by dragging him or her down the court in a 90-second span. This clip is the only thing he's basing his opinion on, as most of the sessions taking place at Lakers' training facility are sworn to secrecy.

Of course, this isn't LiAngelo Ball's only lifeline, as a few other teams had expressed a margin of interest. But many in the basketball community felt that if any team was going to offer him a contract it was going to be the Lakers, for reasons of nepotism. Incidentally the Lakers' doesn't look the the type of organization that will allow the LaVar Ball's of the World to call their shots.
