Bill Cosby's legacy has been destroyed. The disgraced comedian was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand earlier this year. The conviction could send Cosby to jail for the rest of his life, and currently, he's been ordered to remain at home by the courts. His wife Camille is rumored to have left him for good, and Cosby's health is ailing. Now, things are getting even more complicated for the shamed actor.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Pennsylvania's Sexual Offenders Assessment Board has recommended that Cosby should be classified as a sexually violent predator. Pennsylvania law classifies a sexually violent predator as a person who has "a mental abnormality or personality disorder the makes the person likely to engage in predatory sexually violent offenses." The district attorney's office that prosecuted the comedian requested that the courts have a hearing on whether to accept the recommendation. The label carries heavier disciplinary consequences than being a regular sex offender. A sexually violent predator receives more treatment in prison, and experiences more restrictions when released. The Sexual Offenders Assessment Board examination report that led them to recommend that Cosby should get the stricter label has not be released. Currently, only the prosecutor, the defense attorney, and the court will have access to the report prior to the recommended hearing.
