After getting crushed 47-3 by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, the Buffalo Bills have decided to go with rookie quarterback Josh Allen for their home-opener against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday. Allen, who was selected seventh overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, will become the second QB from the class of 2018 to start a game this season.

Allen, 22, had replaced Nathan Peterman during the second half of the Bills' blowout loss in Week 1, after Peterman completed just 5-of-18 passes for 24 yards, two interceptions and a ridiculous passer rating of 0.0. Buffalo failed to gain a first down in the first half with Peterman under center and entered half time with just 33 total yards of offense. Allen finished 6-of-15 for 74 yards and was sacked three times.

"I thought he made some pretty decisive throws in there, into some tight windows. He used his feet at times, as well," Bills head coach Sean McDermott said after Sunday's game, according to ESPN. "I thought he had pretty good command of the huddle and the offense at the line of scrimmage. Other than that, we'll go back and look at the film and evaluate it."

Apparently, the evaluation went well enough that Allen will get his first start on Sunday. After all, it couldn't get any worse - and New Era Field in Orchard Park will be rocking.

The Bills' Week 2 opponent Los Angeles Chargers suffered a 38-28 loss at home against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns in just his second career start.
