Mac Miller's fans unite to pay their respects.

Seeing the words "Mac Miller Has Died At 26" across media headlines wasn't easy. The beloved rapper was a rare breed, near admired by all for his affable personality and respectable artistic evolution; Mac had something for everybody, from K.I.D.S. to Watching Movies, with some Delusional Thomas for good measure. As such, thousands of fans came in droves to pay respects, taking to Mac's childhood haunt, Blue Slide Playground, for a candlelit vigil. The event was organized by Nightfall Records, and Pittsburgh's KDKA spoke to several supporters.

“I was heartbroken. I’ve been crying for like four days,” said fan Gabrielle Sherman, revealing the extent of Mac's impact. Another fan, Johnny Rogan, spoke to the importance of rallying at Blue Slide Park, stating "it hits home for sure. It’s just incredible to come here knowing he’s been here,” “Knowing this was such an influence on his life and knowing he’s been such a big influence of mine.”

Mac Miller's grandmother was in attendance, addressing the crowd with an emotional speech. "He would be so excited," she said, holding back tears. "I wish he was here, but he loves you all. He loves Pittsburgh and everything you have done for him." Pittsburgh returned the love in kind, painting with slide blue in Mac's honor.

Rest in peace to a young icon, who had a profound impact on people from all walks of life. We'll miss you, Mac.
