Could we be getting some new music soon?

It's not every day that we hear from Kid Cudi. He's released a ton of music during his career but he's always maintained an air of mystery. 2018 has seen the resurgence of the artist as he appears hungrier than in past years, linking up with Kanye West to deliver a dream collaboration. Kids See Ghosts was released a few months ago but it seems as though Cudi is moving toward his next chapter. Right now, it's unclear what the Asterisk Collective will materialize as. It may the title of his new album or it could be something else altogether. Whatever it is, Cudi has begun teasing the work on his social platforms.

From out of nowhere, Kid Cudi tweeted a video message, noting that "CHANGE IS COMING." We've seen so many different sides of his mind in the last decade. He's explored a more aggressive, rock-styled approach, teamed up with Dot Da Genius to form WZRD, and delivered some classic hip-hop albums. The message he recorded is styled as somewhat of a PSA as he speaks directly to his fans: "This is not the world we want. We're rewriting the script because these rules don't apply." Throughout Cudi's speech, an asterisk spins in the center of the image, before the artist promises we will be "united to showcase the power of creativity."

The cryptic clip ends with the words "Stay Tuned" on the screen, keeping fans' curiosity piqued until we learn exactly what Cudi has planned. Whatever it is, we're excited for what's to come.
