Move over Tom Holland.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse aims to bring our favorite wall-crawler to the big screen in animated form. While Tom Holland has proved to be an exceptional Spider-Man in the MCU, Sony is attempting to monetize their vast catalog of Spidey characters. Sony owns the movie rights to over 900 heroes and villains from the Spider-Man comics, and they're tired of watching Disney rake in all the funds with films like Black Panther and Infinty War.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales. In the comics, Morales is a Black and Latino teen who is bitten by a radioactive spider and... you know the rest. He exists in an alternate universe, but recently, Marvel comics combined their universes in an epic cross-over event that placed the traditional Peter Park Spider-Man and Morales in the same story. Now, both Parker and Morales exists together as crime fighters for the Avengers, and their own solo stories. Into The Spider-Verse will draw inspiration from that storyline, as a new trailer reveals that the universe-colliding plot will be central to the heroes' mission.

In the latest trailer, we get to see more of Spider-Gwen, another alternate universe hero. A handful of other Spider-Men join the team as well, most notably the Nicolas Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir and the hilarious Spider-Ham. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse drops this Christmas, and also stars Mahershala Ali, Liev Schreiber, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, and Brian Tyree Henry.
