Travis Scott's "Astroworld" Is Already Eligible For Gold Certification

Travis Scott's doing crazy numbers with "Astroworld."

It's been roughly four days since Travis Scott's Astroworld was released and at this point, it could be argued that it's one of his strongest bodies of work in his catalog. The first week sales projections for the project are astronomical and it seems like every day, it increases substantially. We won't know exactly how well it does until this weekend but at this point, it's looks like Astroworld will end Drake's five week reign atop the Billboard 200 with Scorpion. However, before the first week sales come in, it's reported that Scott's latest opus has gone gold within a few days of its release.

Chartdata reports that Travis Scott's Astroworld has already gone gold. It's an impressive feat for Scott and clearly shows that Astroworld isn't just one of his strongest projects to date critically but also one of his most commercially appealing projects that he's released in his career.

Although going gold within a few days is certainly an accomplishment, Chartdata notes that the eligibility is mainly due to the success of "Butterfly Effect." They explained that the song already racked up 2 million units certified by the RIAA and because 10 track units are the equivalent of one album sales, the album has already raked up over 200K units. However, those numbers won't be included in the official first week sales.
