The Rae Sremmurd boys show love to some hip-hop legends.

In the wake of dropping their ambitious triple album Sr3mm, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee continue their press tour with an appearance on Pitchfork's "Verses" feature. The premise is simple - each artist opens up about a pivotal verse of their choosing.

Slim Jxmmi reveals himself to be an old soul, holding it down with Nas & AZ's classic "Life's A Bitch." While Nas' prowess goes without saying, many consider AZ's opening verse one of hip-hop's best. Jxmmi  "honestly I can't tell you the first time I heard the Nas track was. I just know that as I got older and I kept listening to it, I could relate to it more," says Jim. "Life's hard man. We're living in own personal hells or heavens." He proceeds to rap along to AZ's iconic verse, stating "he said so much shit, in a crazy way...He speaking so intellectually, it's tight, but there's so much swag in it too."

Swae Lee goes next, opting to pick The Game's verse from "Hate It Or Love It" off The Documentary. "It felt like you were overcoming something, it felt like royalty," says Swae. "It made me feel like I was overcoming something." Swae proceeds to reflect on the track's chief contributor, opening up about his early days playing shows in LA. "One time we just went to the club, and The Game was at the club. He stood on the speaker, he was like, "yo man ya'll need to fuck with these guys, these my lil homies man, these n***as hard! My daughter's love their songs!"
