The provenance of Marc E. Bassy's new record "Love Her Too" with G-Eazy was the product of a late night jam session. Without an unrealistic expectation harboring the "project," both Bassy and G-Eazy were able to let their guard down. There are confused elements at play on "Love Her Too:" a working-class drum pattern, a synthesized wiggle, and pseudoromantic melody, also synth-derived.
But once the song gets to playing beyond the opening measure, everything snaps into place, logically-speaking. By the time G-Eazy is ushered out of his corner, all he has to do is deliver a romantic trope or two and the level is cleared, which he does unabashedly as though his breadbasket depending on it.
"Love Her Too" was taken from Bassy's upcoming EP Postmodern Depression, where he hopes his play on words doesn't spell disaster to hapless stranger walking out an airport terminal following a rejected plea, with their "recently added" playlist on shuffle. The time has come to speak on matters of the heart, and thanks to Marc E. Bassy and G-Eazy nobody is exempt from the conversation, not even the "Gritty" mascots who speak in grumbles.
