Cousin Stizz "Did It" On His Lonesome, 3 Years Running

Cousin Stizz returns with a three-pack EP.

Cousin Stizz still references his breakout hit "No Bells," years after the fact. In fairness, Suffolk County was a few years ahead of its time, his subtlety of craft still the boon it once was, though his debut is more cohesive than anything he's done since. Never-the-less, "Did It," one of two singles he debuted in the wee hours of the morning, the other being "Way Up," are both a stark reminder of his liminal state.

"Did It" is Stizz's way of acknowledging how far he's come, his assertion of authenticity notwithstanding. The Boston rapper makes overconfidence fashionable again, in spite of the ledger. Outside of NY's resurgence, hip hop's Northeastern states can certainly do with a little pressure on the back-end. Cousin Stizz might be the man to apply such a hold. All Adds Up is out today.

Enjoy.

Quotable Lyrics:

I don't need help, I be fine myself
If I wasn't me, shit I would despise myself
Heart cold, don't know the last time I felt
But it's facts there's a classic on everything I touch
And we came up out the mud, so I can't complain that much
When you see your blessings, they gon' throw all they disgust
I don't smoke no little blunts, gotta buy it by the bunch.
