Dez hits the free agent market.

The Dallas Cowboys have released Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant today, according to multiple reports.

After months of speculation that his career in Dallas was coming to an end, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones met with Bryant today and informed him that he would be released, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. ESPN's Field Yates reports that the Cowboys will create $8.5 million in cap space by releasing Bryant.

Dez took to twitter shortly after today's meeting with a message for Cowboys fans. "Cowboy nation I need you to know this wasn't my decision.. I will always love y'all...forever Dallas in my heart."

Since being selected by the Cowboys 24th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft, Dez Bryant has spent his entire career in Dallas, including three Pro Bowl seasons. He earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2014 when he caught a career-best 16 touchdowns. Last season, Bryant caught 69 passes, including six touchdowns, for a grand total of 838 yards and was tied for third in the league in dropped passes.

Although his numbers have dipped in recent years, Bryant will draw plenty of interest on the free agent market.
