For Quavo, Offset and Takeoff, 2018 is shaping up to be an even better year than 2017 for the Migos. The rap trio, who scored one of last year's biggest hits with "Bad and Boujee," are preparing to drop their upcoming LP, Culture II, a sequel to their previous studio effort in that series. They may be drowning in bling, expensive cars and other luxurious trappings of the high life, but in their Rolling Stone cover story interview, they have done their best to go into the studio and craft something that will once again allow them to dominate the game.

As told to Toure, one of the biggest changes for the group was recording Culture II outside of their comfort zones, while on the road in the midst of a massive world tour. Typically, they lay down a lot of music material in their own home studios, but that wasn't the case here.
"We were just writing in the middle of, like, the jungle," Takeoff recalls of a recording stint in South Africa. "Our backyard was, like, the trees." In fact, perhaps the lesser-known of the three emcees remarked that, at one point, "[Quavo] saying 'straight out the jungle, straight out the jungle,' like on a Bob Marley kind of like Jamaican tip. We wouldn't have said that if we wasn't in the environment we was in."
Despite this scattershot schedule, Culture II will supposedly carry the signature Migos sound that fans have grown to love and identify with. "Club rocking. The beat, the bass is everything," said Offset. "We're not really a slow-down artist. It's light, it's fun, it's lit."
