While Christmas is just a few days away, the holidays evoke negative emotions to some people. Tomorrow will mark the five year death anniversary of Capital STEEZ. The rapper took his own live on December 23rd, 2012. His death had a major impact on Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era but they continue to keep his name and legacy alive in many ways.
Joey Bada$$ hit Instagram today to share a new piece he got. The Brooklyn rapper copped himself a Capital STEEZ inspired Jesus piece with STEEZ's face on it. The gold pendant has STEEZ's head on it with diamonds around his neck and a diamond encrusted crown that sits above his head. The piece was done by Greg Yuna a.k.a Mr. Flawless, who's done work for Drake and Victor Cruz in the past. It's an incredibly detailed piece that clearly represents Capital STEEZ's facial features. Joey posted the photo on Instagram with the caption, "STEEZUS PIECE."
Aside from the STEEZUS piece, Joey Bada$$ recently revealed some unfortunate news about Capital STEEZ's posthumous album, King Capital. The rapper took to Instagram to share a message to his fans saying the album would not be dropping this year. He continued to reveal that because of "business legalities and sample clearances" the project had to be pushed back until further notice. However, Joey told fans that the wait will be worth it. Hopefully, we end up getting that project in the new year at some point. Earlier this year, they dropped the first single off of it, "King Steelo."
