The Chicago rap scene and beyond is mourning the loss of BloodHound Q50 as police continue to investigate his murder in Chicago two weeks ago. As caught by No Jumper on Instagram, footage started to emerge on social media of his funeral, where family and friends laid him to rest in Indiana yesterday (Friday, September 25) and paid tribute to his life and legacy.
According to The NWI Times, various Northwest Indiana police agencies attended the service and other processions to honor the Chicago rapper's life. Specifically, officers from the Merrillville Police Department provided security for the procession, which began at Taft Street and ended at Calumet Park Cemetery.
"We often handle precautionary measures for events in our town and most of the time they go unnoticed," Assistant Chief of Police Matt Vasel reportedly stated. "However, today was a funeral on a major roadway for a well-known subject. Out of abundance of caution, we worked with our partner agencies to make sure that this event went off without a hitch."
BloodHound Q50, whose death sparked many hip-hop reactions, reportedly said he grew up between Chicago and Northwest Indiana. At press time, no suspects have been arrested for the Chicago murder.
BloodHound Q50's Funeral
However, this Q50 situation has also led to a lot of other reports and updates on his affiliates and alleged foes in Chicago and in hip-hop. Various pages are reporting on the alleged murder of BloodHound Poohman, an affiliate tied to Q50's group and Drill City in Chicago. In fact, they claim Poohman had attended Q50's funeral hours before the murder.
The murder they claim had Poohman as a victim is a Chicago South Side shooting from last night reported by ABC 7 Chicago. Two suspects in a black sedan reportedly pulled up on a man standing near his car outside a business, and one of them opened fire. The man got into his car and drove off. The suspects reportedly chased him and continued shooting, hitting him in the back and knee and leading to him crashing into a pole near East 74th Street near 7PM local time.
Medical authorities reportedly pronounced the man dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center after the shooting. Neither them nor law enforcement have publicly identified the victim as BloodHound Poohman (or identified him at all) at press time. So the rumors around his death remain speculative until official confirmation.
The tragedy of this BloodHound Q50 situation is seemingly spilling over. But street rumors are mixing with official updates, so folks will have to wait for both to line up.
