The R-O-C wants to be the new H-B-O

You don't get as wealthy as Jay Z is by only sticking to one hustle, you have to diversify and stick your thumbs in a lot of different pies. Not content only to conquer music and sports, Jay Z's Roc Nation company will now be expanding onto the smalls screen with its new television division.

According to Billboard, the new television division of Roc Nation will be headed up by Patrick Reardon, who has 15 years of experience in the industry, and formerly worked as the co-head of television for the Weinstein Company before Harvey Weinstein's infamous sex scandals drove the company into the toilet. While he was there, he started the popular Project: Runway reality series and worked on several documentaries with Jay Z in the past, Time: The Kalief Browder Story, and Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, the former of which recently won a Peabody award

"Roc Nation is such an influential and dynamic company, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them as they expand their brand into television," said Reardon, in a statement.

It won't be all documentaries for Roc Nation, however, as they're planning on focusing on both scripted and unscripted television shows. They've reportedly already getting started on their new series, including one that's reportedly already in the works with Amazon.

What kind of shows would you want to see coming from Roc Nation's new television division, or should Jay Z just stick to rap and sports. Sound off in the comments.
