Ty Dolla $ign has been making waves in the hip-hop game for nearly the entirely of this calendar year, but he's ending 2017 on a high note. His latest album, Beach House 3, is being considered by many fans as some of his best work, is in heavy rotation both on major streaming services and on urban radio stations across the United States. In a new interview with the Ebro in the Morning crew on Hot 97, the rapper talked about his identity as a collaborator, starting a new label and so much more.

When it was brought up that Ty is known primarily for his feature work on hip-hop, rap and pop records over the years, the emcee showcased the humility and willingness to be a team player that has led to his sustained success in the music industry. "That just happened, I didn't know that, like, everyone was going to want me on their records," he responded when asked how he became involved on a multitude of tracks from other artists. "I just made music and it happened." He added that, when someone plays a beat for him or brings him in the studio for some feature work, he's never really sure where the final product is going to end up, but at the end of the day, he feels fortunate to have been a part of so many tracks that have landed and found success, especially as crossover records.

A talented musician as well, Ty Dolla $ign also let slip at the conclusion of the interview that he has launched a new label called "The Movement." In fact, he's got two hot names in Joe Moses and 24hrs as the first signees to the imprint. This comes on the heels of his announced label startup with YG and DJ Mustard back in 2014, but that project never quite got off the ground. Now, it seems like Ty is looking to capitalize on his ever-growing popularity and expand his range in the music business beyond the title of simply an artist or even just a producer.
