The pornography industry is usually one of the first to adapt new technologies, which comes at no surprise that they are open to the growing cryptocurrency craze, the decentralized and encrypted electronic cash networks sweeping the internet.
Pornhub has just announced that they will be amplifying their cryptocurrency-payment options by accepting Tron in the near future. Additionally, the company will soon recognize ZenCash, another digital coin, as a viable alternative to standardized currencies.
"Decentralized payment systems have continued to grow in popularity, and cryptocurrency adoption is exploding across a broad economic spectrum," reveals Pornhub Vice President Corey Price. "Today, cryptocurrencies are especially viable in the adult entertainment industry because they are privacy-centric and incorporate more anonymity tools than traditional tender."
Tron and ZenCash can be used to purchase Pornhub's premium streaming service and its traffic/advertising network.
While Tron begins to gain in value, it is still dwarfed by Bitcoin and Ethereum. Although, the cryptocurrency is able to process 100,000 transactions per second, which is 400 times faster than their competitors.
