J. Cole seems to be plotting on the release of a new project. It's unsure when the project is expected to be released but considering the fact he released his first single since 2013, "Middle Child," it looks like a follow-up to K.O.D is imminent. Cole is one of the few artists who doesn't have to do a lot but release music and his dedicated fanbase will make sure it reaches the Billboard charts. The rapper's latest single has now earned him his latest top 5 single on the Billboard Hot 100.

J. Cole's latest single, "Middle Child" is officially a success on the Billboard charts. The rapper's new track initially debuted at #26 on the chart after a few days of streaming. However, after its first full week of streaming, it propelled over 20 positions to #4. This marks a new career high for J. Cole and his first top 5 single on the Hot 100. Cole made his first appearance in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with "Deja Vu" which debuted and peaked at #7. Most recently, K.O.D singles, "ATM," "Kevin's Heart" and "KOD" all appeared in the top 10 at #6, #8, and #10, respectively.

It's unsure if "Middle Child" is a single for any project or just a one-off single. However, in the press release for "Middle Child," it was revealed that Cole is "currently in the studio working on completing his sixth studio album." We're excited to hear what he has on the way.
