Looks like Bobby Shmurda is going to be in jail until 2016. His request for bail was denied yet again Monday, with his trial for drug conspiracy and weapons-possession charges getting postponed until February 22 of next year. The judge set his bail at $2 million.
The saga of Shmurda continues. He has been locked up since getting arrested last December along with over a dozen of his GS9 compatriots. His Monday court hearing marked his first appearance with new lawyer, Alex Spiro of the prominent Brafman & Associates law firm. After Judge James Burke postponed the trial date, Spiro argued in favor of releasing his client pending the trial. Prosecutor Nigel Farinha argued that Shmurda should remain locked up because he has already been denied bail four times and the case against him has only gotten stronger.
Shmurda rejected an 8-year plea deal in July. He faces up to 25 years in jail.
