Maino talks about being a voice for his peers and the streets alike, as well as fellow New York rappers who may not necessarily rep the NY sound (which he says is completely okay).

If you didn’t hear, two convicted murderers escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York this past weekend and have been on the run ever since. Reminiscent of something out of a movie, the two inmates used power tools to cut through a steel wall and followed a series of tunnels, before emerging from a manhole outside the prison walls. CNN, who’s been all over this national matter, decided to invite rapper Maino onto their set to talk about the escape and his very own experiences at that prison. Watch the 8-minute chat above.
