    10 Surprising Rap Writing Credits

The author of two books on the group, Michael Muhammad Knight explains, “The rationale is that the black man is God and created the universe, and is physically stronger and intellectually stronger and more righteous naturally. Whiteness is weak and wicked and inferior — basically just an errant child who needs to be corrected.”

Pharrell has had a long and successful career, but his popularity unexpectedly peaked in the last year. As prolific as he's been behind the scenes of many hits, he really came to the forefront with hits like "Blurred Lines", "Get Lucky" and the single from his new album, "Happy". The super-producer has taken some time to reflect on his early career. Surprisingly enough, Pharrell feels a certain disconnect with much of his pre-G I  R L material, indicating that he "didn't know what happiness was" at the time. He also weighed in on his snub at the Oscars.

Future debuted a new song at SXSW that bore a striking resemblance to Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love". Due to his brief (somewhat confusing) introduction to the track, as well as the melodic similarities within it, rumors began to circulate that Future had a role in writing the song. In a new interview with Wendy Williams, Fewtch (sort of) cleared things up regarding his contributions to the song, and also spoke about his upcoming wedding to Ciara.

Samples Of The Week: March 13

When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh huh honey."  This week, see who Kid Ink, Jay Z, A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar chose to sample in their recent releases, all of which you can find on HNHH.
