In a red carpet interview, Detail, the producer behind "Drunk In Love," reveals that we might be graced with a Jay Z & Beyonce collaborative album this year. North Carolina's Patrick Douthit isn't like most hip-hop stars. He's uninterested with chains, fame, cars, clothes and objectifying women. He's concerned with honoring classic soul music through his sample-based hip-hop beats. That has been enough to catch the attention of Jay Z, Beyonce, De La Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Erykah Badu and many more.

Jay Z has been throwing an annual pre-Grammy brunch at his pad in Beverly Hills over the last couple of years, and today's festivities may have been the biggest blowout yet. Oh Let's Duet: Most Unlikely Grammy Performance Pairings
The Grammys bring all of recorded popular music together under one roof. It's the only time you can see Snoop Dogg and Billy Joel at the same party (because Billy's a Piru for life). After several years of awkwardly sitting rap's biggest stars next to pop's schmaltziest, some enterprising show producer decided to bring that contrast to the main stage, throwing rap artists and pop artists together to see what sticks.

With the Grammys coming up this Sunday, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look at the times they have upset us, the hip-hop community, the most. Because nobody is perfect and the Grammys are certainly no exception. While there are a few time they got the 'Best Rap Album' right (and we will take a look at the flip side of this list later today, so keep an eye out), there have also been quite a few instances where they picked the absolute wrong album, upon general consensus.

Near Extinction: The Platinum Hip-Hop Album
Back in October, many industry insiders were surprised by the early sales estimates for T.I.'s most recent album, Paperwork. After a day of sales, forecasts had the album selling roughly 70,000 units in its opening week. The self-proclaimed King of the South, who in his prime would easily do upwards of 400,000 copies sold in his opening weeks had officially fallen from grace and the dismal first week record sales were an obvious indicator. An array of reasons can be attributed to the unfortunate reality that almost no one in hip hop is selling records.
