Young M.A made a name for herself off of one track. Now, with the release of the Herstory EP, she's giving fans a better idea of who she is. "Self M.Ade" is one of 5 brand new tracks on the project, and its a change of pace from both "OOOUUU" and its similarly quotable follow-up "Hot Sauce." A hard snare and bass drum track compliments an ascending key line that gives the song an immediately Just Blaze-esque feel. The driving instrumental inspires M.A to take a faster and more energetic approach to the casually stylish deliver we heard on her previously singles. The urgent aspirational rapping gives way to a subtly melodic hook that that's reminiscent of Max B or French Montana's Coke Boy work.
