Passengers have been transported to the hospital.

Federal health officials were on site at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York this morning when a flight from Dubai had a number of passengers who were severely ill. The Emirates Flight 203 was carrying more than 500 passengers and landed close to 9:06 a.m. ET, CNN reports.

"I asked the (flight attendant) for a mask before we even took off, but there was none available," passenger Erin Sykes told the publication. "It was so obvious that a large number of people were ill well before takeoff. People were coughing the whole time. Now some people have fevers over 100," she added. "They should never had been allowed to board."

Another one of the passengers on the plane was none other than Vanilla Ice who tweeted a video showing the numerous fire trucks and ambulance outside his plane before he knew the gravity of the situation. "So I just landed from Dubai and now there is like tons of ambulances and fire trucks and police all over the place," he wrote

Later on, he figured out what was happening but since he was seated on the upper level of the double-decker plane, he wasn't victim to the supposed flu that was going around.
