Yesterday afternoon several celebrities had nude photos leaked online, including Tiger Woods and his former girlfriend Lindsey Vonn, as well as Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart and Katharine McPhee, according to a report by TMZ.
Woods and Vonn split up in May of 2015 after nearly three years of dating but it appears Vonn's phone was hacked at some point and the pictures were recently posted to a website that is now being faced with multiple lawsuits.
According to TMZ, Woods and his lawyer, Marty Singer, have already threatened a lawsuit if the photos are not immediately removed.
This is just the latest news for the troubled 14-time major champion, who was arrested for DUI a few months back after what he described as "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications." A recent report revealed that he had five different drugs in his system at the time of his arrest including Hydrocodone (painkiller, or vicodin), Hydromorphone (powerful painkiller known as dilaudid), Alprazolam (xanax), Zolpidem (sleeping pill also known as ambien) and THC.
He entered a plea of not guilty at his hearing earlier this month and is expected to enter a diversion program on October 25th in order to have his charges dropped and keep him out of jail.
In addition to Woods, Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell have also lawyered up, demanding that the original website, as well as several others, take down nude photos of them that were illegally hacked. According to Kristen Stewart's lawyer, Scott Whitehead, the posting and sharing of these pics is a "flagrant violation of copyright laws," in other other words, Kristen and Stella own their images and no one can use them without permission.
Lindsey Vonn is also pursuing legal action to protect and enforce her rights. A rep for the four-time overall ski world champion told The Big Lead,
"It is an outrageous and despicable invasion of privacy for anyone to steal and illegally publish private intimate photos," a rep for Vonn told The Big Lead.
"Lindsey will take all necessary and appropriate legal action to protect and enforce her rights and interests."
"She believes the individuals responsible for hacking her private photos as well as the websites that encourage this detestable conduct should be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law."
