The trailer for a new dark comedy starring John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix hit the internet on Thursday (May 24). The film finds the two movie stars playing infamous assassins. Titled The Sisters Brothers, the movie also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Riz Ahmed. The Sisters brothers Eli (Reilly) and Charlie (Phoenix) were two assassins who lived during the gold rush era in the 1850's. They are hired to track down and kill a gold prospector (Gyllenhaal) and a chemist who claims to have created a method for finding gold (Ahmed).

In the trailer, it appears that Eli is ready to hang up his pistols and start a legit lifestyle, while Charlie wants the complete opposite. The Sisters Brothers will be a mix between a dark comedy and a western, and is based on the Patric Dewitt novel of the same name. Jacques Audiard is helming the film, and it will be his first all English film.
