Actress Zazie Beetz arrives at FX's 'Atlanta Robbin' Season' FYC Event at the Saban Media Center on June 8, 2018 in North Hollywood, California.

Run Zazie!

We've seen more pictures of Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker than any previous actor this far in advance to the movie's release. That's why recent set footage of Phoenix as the villain without his makeup and costume are refreshing. DC Comics and Warner Bros. settled on the name Arthur Fleck as the Joker's real name, and Phoenix was spotted performing a number of scenes for the film as the sane-looking middle-aged man.

The first scene that was caught by Hollywood Pipeline depicts Fleck running through the streets attempting to catch up with someone. He trips and falls, and rolls in pain for a moment before the director yells cut. Set photos confirm that this is the same scene where Brett Cullen appears as Thomas Wayne. Another captured moment shows Zazie Beetz leaving a building, with Phoenix's creeper looking Fleck following closely behind. Soon after, he's seen pacing the streets in a nervous wreck, possibly angry that he lost Beetz in the crowd. Fans are speculating that the Atlanta and Deadpool 2 star will play a love interest that is crucial to Fleck's metamorphosis into The Joker.

The origin Joker film is directed by Todd Phillips and executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Along with Phoenix and Beetz, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, and Marc Maron star in the untitled film.
