Can Alchemist and Budgie get an amen?

Alchemist has been a staple in hip-hop for well over a decade, and the producer has teamed up with UK's Budgie to bring us The Good Book Vol. 2. With instrumentals made up entirely from religious samples, Alchemist and Budgie deliver an enjoyable blend of beats and hip-hop collaborations, making for a smooth and engaging project.

It's part mixtape, part beat tape, and the gospel conceit ensures a coherent theme throughout. The collaborators are Alc's tried and true soldiers like Royce & Action Bronson, who come through with solid performances throughout. Overall, The Good Book Vol. 2 is a worthwhile listen, especially on a Sunday.
