Although the elections are still going down at this very moment, some Americans have opted not to let the political tension erase their friendships. Swizz Beatz sat down with Hot 97 host Nessa recently, and spoke on his relationship with Kanye West. West has been the most polarizing figure of 2018, causing an absolute uproar after continuously sporting a MAGA hat and supporting Donald Trump. While Swizz admits that he has given West some "tough love" after stern talks, he hasn't given up on his homie.
"I want to be there to help him, I don't want to be shooting at him," stated Swizz. "I don't want to be shooting at him with more negativity. I don't want to be on that side of the fence. I want to be on the side of the fence that, if he do need help, he can call somebody that will really help him 'cause it might not be a lot of those people really around him. And for me to take myself out of that because of something I don't agree with what he's doing, I might regret that later."
"I shouldn't be beating him up for decisions he's making whether I don't agree with them or not," Swizz continued. "I can tell him I don't agree with it very strongly. But I also need to let him know that if he need to talk, or you need a way out, or you need some guidance, I'm here." Check out the remarks on Kanye at the 27-minute mark.
