Stoppa is an artist currently based in L.A., but his sound is more akin to the current wave of dark, melodic, R&B-influenced rap currently coming out of Toronto, or perhaps the crawling tempos of Houston. He's already had some experience opening for the likes of Dom Kennedy, King Los, and Curren$y, and it's clear he's comfortable in his style in a way that shows he's ready to take his career to the next level. His latest record, "Hype Now," is set to appear on his upcoming Weed, Water, Wifi project, and could be immediate enough to catch on, but either way, we'll be paying attention to his next moves.
