British grime artist Skepta quickly gaining traction in the US, thanks largely to a co-sign from Drake and his appearance alongside Kanye West at the BRIT Awards in March.
Today he gives us the video for "Shutdown,"a veritable grime banger that will appear on his upcoming LP Konnichiwa. In the video he is seen chopping it up in the North London projects. Note that many of his homies are rocking the raincoat. Interesting to see how weather influences fashion trends.
The video is directed by Grace LaDoja; Skepta appeared alongside such British rap luminaries as Dizzee Rascal in LaDoja's very entertaining mini-doc on the connection between Air Max and grime music. Check it out below.
