We recently sat down with Royce Da 5’9” for an illuminating interview (seriously, go check it out), and among all the wisdom that Nickel Nine distributed he acknowledged that this next album is nearly finished, despite not even having dropped Layers yet. It will be called Book of Ryan.
Backing things up a bit, Royce Da 5’9” is currently in the midst of a strong solo comeback after taking six years off to get sober. He just dropped Trust The Shooter, a free 12 song EP, and will release his album Layers on April 15. However, those two releases apparently weren’t enough for Royce’s prolific output recently. In our interview, he reveals “I’ve got another album pretty much ready to go after that. That album is called Book of Ryan, and it’s really, really a lot of the stuff that I want to share.” Royce is taking a page out of his buddy Eminem's book here by invoking his real name government, Ryan Montgomery.
Despite the biographical and introspective perspective of “Tabernacle,” Royce says his next album will be even more personal than Layers. We’re excited to hear more from Royce Da 5’9”. Check out our whole three-part interview with him for more insight.
