Sad news from Atlanta on the day of Rich Gang's mixtape drop: Rich Homie Quan's father was reportedly shot four times this morning, and is currently in the hospital. He's in critical condition, but according to TMZ, is expected to live.

Corey Lamar, Quan's father and manager, was apparently in the Atlanta barber shop he owns when a man (or men, TMZ isn't sure) "came in and attempted to rob the place," during which time they open fired. Lamar was hit four times. He was then rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery, and Rich Homie Quan is currently at the hospital waiting for him to get out of surgery.

Stay tuned for updates, and keep Corey Lamar in your thoughts.

[Update: Quan's label releases statement]

Today Rich Homie Quan's label, Think It's A Game Entertainment, has released a statement on yesterday's tragic events. Speaking to XXL, T.I.G.'s founder and CEO, G. "Fly" Henry, said:

"Unfortunately RHQ’s father Corey Lamar was shot due to an attempted robbery in his barbershop yesterday. We don’t know how the news traveled so fast. Was this gang/beef related? Not that we know of. Quan’s Dad is doing better now and in the healing process. We’re just asking all of his fans to support and honor the privacy of Rich Homie Quan and his family as they push through. We at TIG Records wish him well and a speedy recovery. It’s really times like these that we stand even stronger by our code at T.I.G and that’s to, Trust In God."
