The wait for Post Malone's upcoming Beerbongs & Bentleys continues, but the official followup to "Rockstar" has arrived. "Psycho" has surfaced in select international markets, continuing the formula set by Post's massive 21 Savage collaboration. This time, Post has tapped Ty Dolla $ign to play the supporting role. Where "Rockstar" seemed to celebrate the debauchery and hedonism associated with fame, "Psycho" seems more subdued.
The gentle beat shares a few melodic similarities to its predecessor, minus the drunken haze. Despite the ominous title, "Psycho" seems almost kind in comparison; the message rings far more sincere than "fucking hoes and popping pillies." "My AP goin’ psycho, lil’ mama bad like Michael," sings Post, after bragging about his world-renowned generosity. "Had so many bottles I gave ugly girl a sip." Melodically, this one is on point, and it wouldn't be surprising if Post had another hit on his hand.
So far, the sonic direction of Beerbongs & Bentleys is sounding promising. Catch "Psycho" now through whatever means you deem necessary.
