Nick Young is said to have been arrested in Hollywood on Friday night. Reports state that the NBA star was involved in an incident with police during a traffic stop.
The Golden State Warriors star was pulled over just before midnight, according to law enforcement sources. The late-night interaction was supposed to be a routine process for a regular traffic violation. For reasons that have yet to be revealed, Nick Young ended up being arrested for obstruction of justice on the scene.
The 33-year-old allegedly failed to cooperate with the legal authorities. A witness said the basketball player was taken out of his vehicle and ordered against the wall before he was handcuffed and taken into custody.
The police took him to a nearby station where he was booked. Young's vehicle is said to have been impounded since the incident.
There is no publicized indication of whether others were in the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
Nick Young has faced legal issues in the past as well. In 2016, the young man was reprimanded for playing his music too loudly while driving his car around Hollywood. He has also been caught up in a reported lawsuit after a pickup game at church that same year.
