Netflix is kind of on fire today. After unveiling a teaser for Season 5 of Orange Is The New Black and the full trailer for their TV adaptation of Dear White People, the #1 streaming service has a third new show announcement: Bill Nye Saves The World.
The show is a definite departure for Netflix, which so far has only trafficked in cinematic-style movies and shows. Bill Nye Saves The World looks different. Based on the trailer, it looks like a mix of a nightly show (including a live audience) and the intimate, educational style videos that made his original science show Bill Nye The Science Guy such a success.
It’s amazing to watch Bill Nye have such a second wind his career after his heyday in the 1990s. This show is definitely not only for kids though. It’ll also have special guests as far ranging as DJ Steve Aoki, pro basketball player Diamond Stone and supermodel Karlie Kloss.
Bill Nye Saves The World will release all 13 of its 30-minute episodes on April 21. Hopefully he can actually save us.
