Andre 3000 has shared two new songs for Mother's Day. According to Pitchfork, the songs were recorded "several" years ago. "Look Ma No Hands" is an instrumental accompaniment to the emotional piano ballad "Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)." It features Andre on bass clarinet and James Blake on keys, and sounds as though it may be largely improvised. The jazzy arrangement is 17 minutes long.
The rare solo releases from Andre come along with some Instagram posts that pay tribute to his mother, who died one day after Andre's birthday in 2013. He has shared a text message conversation which occurred the day before she passed away.
In another message, he wrote, "Happy Mother's Day. I'm sure all the cards, dinners, flowers and last minute gifts are appreciated but I've learned the best gift a parent could get is to simply know their child is ok."
