The Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards took place on Monday, and Kim Kardashian was honored with the Influencer Award. The event, which shines a light on fashion and accessory designers, brought out some of the world's most famous celebrities who were dressed to impress. Other than Kardashian, several stars were honored throughout the night with awards including Naomi Campbell, Donatella Versace, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Ralph Lauren, among others. The event was hosted by the hilarious and gorgeous Issa Rae.
Via USA Today, when Kardashian stepped on stage to receive herInfluencer Award, she displayed an honest sense of humor. “I kinda shocked that I'm winning a fashion award when I'm naked most of the time." she joked before getting serious. "It was maybe seven years ago when I had a publicist, and she asked, what were my goals, what were my dreams, and I said I just wanted to be on the cover of a fashion magazine," she contined. "And she said, let's (make) some realistic goals because that will never happen. And so, of course I sent her my Vogue cover when it came out. An autographed copy. So it's really a trip to me that now I'm here getting an award for fashion when it's something I always loved. Thank you so much for this, it means a lot."
