"Hey, I'm coming back, man. Don't worry about it."

Details about Kevin Durant's decision to leave Oklahoma City in favor of the Bay Area are slowing leaking out, including yesterday's report that KD never personally informed Russell Westbrook that he'd be leaving the Thunder.

Westbrook was understandably angry and hurt by Durant's decision and lack of communication, which now leaves him in a position to decide on his own future with the Thunder immediately.

Not only did Durant fail to reach out to his running mate of the last 8 seasons but he allegedly lied to him about his intentions as well. According to a recent podcast by ESPN's Royce Young, Westbrook was certain that Durant would be returning to OKC and KD allegedly assured him, "I'm coming back. don't worry about it."

"Three weeks ago, Kevin Durant's sitting there at dinner, telling him "Hey, I'm coming back, man. Don't worry about it." And now, Russell Westbrook has been kind of thrown into this in having to decide his future a summer earlier than expected."

"Kevin Durant, more so than even that, was telling people, "Hey, yeah, I mean I'm coming back." Like I said in there, a week before Kevin Durant sat down in the Hamptons, he was in Oklahoma City ready to make an offer on a multi-million-dollar house. So, the guy was pretty serious about coming back, and then things turned rather quickly for him to leave. And there's no doubt that the organization felt a little bit burned by this."

Kevin Durant was a free agent, free to sign with any team of his choosing, so you can't really knock him for changing his mind- people change their minds all the time. But if he really pulled the wool over Westbrook's eyes like that and didn't let him know the jig was up? That's cold blooded.
